Antares Minerals Expands Drilling at Rio Grande

Antares Minerals Inc. announced the additional drilling showed significant “copper-gold mineralization.” These eight additional drillings happened in the Rio Grande project located in Northwest Argentina.

John Black, the President and CEO of Antares Minerals, noted “The higher grade mineralization encountered … is also promising as it demonstrates that the Rio Grande system is capable of producing zones with higher copper-gold grades.”

The Rio Grande project is a joint venture between Antares and Mansfield Minerals Inc. The agreement is a 50% in interest in the Rio Grande project for each company.

According to Mansfield Minerals, “seven of the eight holes reported here intersected copper-gold mineralization.” Recently the project had completed thirty drillings and analysts for the holes remains in pending status.

Shares moved slightly higher with the announcement. Shares were up $0.15 to close for the day at $4.50.

The president for Mansfield, Gordon P. Leask, said “[the year] 2007 is proving to be a pivotal year in the evolution of the Rio Grande project. We have reported … a new zone of mineralization in the North zone … and have drilled the best intercept at the Discovery [to date]. On a scout drilling basis, the percentage of holes to date that have intersected high grades over wide widths is exceptional.”
